I had an opportunity to Glam Yemisi up finally.

She was as excited as i was to have a makeover with H.O.G.

As always, i had fun creating this look on Mrs Vese and she also did as well.

Hope you love what you see.....

This was Tina's Trial Makeover.

We had fun creating this look and thankfully her Hubby to be (My very own Uncle Segz) approved.

Did i forget to mention that Tina has an amazing Facial Structure?

Which of these 3 looks would you Rock

Okay Luvlies, Last weekend i got a new Camera (Sony DSC Cybershot W610). I did a couple of reviews before settling for this very affordable camera and could not wait to capture some beauty shots with it.

So i decided to Glam myself up and this Camera took some amazing pictures. I am glad i purchased this mini wonder Camera. Wink wink.

I ended up creating three(3)different looks with 3 different Lipstick shades.

You tell me which look gets your vote...hehehehe On Our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/houseofglamor), the first Look with the nude Lips is getting the highest Votes.

Do you agree?

Purple and Gold Delight

Hey Luvlies,

I have not been blogging lately. Been Joggling between my Job, Setting Up Our Beauty Studio, Being a Wife and Mum and getting set to start our training school. This is basically the reason for my numerous updates today.

Hopefully i d improve on my blogging skills soon.

So here is a look i created on myself. This look was inspired by a Clients suggestion for her Upcoming wedding. I decided to try out the combination of purple and gold and to be honest i didn't know it was going to come out nice.

What do you think?

Products Used

Eyes; Red cherry lashes(113), Zaron Baked Eye Shadow Trio- True Fantasy, Ever Sheen Purple Pencil was used in Lining my lower eyelid while Zaron Waterproof Ultratenue Kajal was used in lining the upper lid.
For the eyebrows; I used Davies Eyepencil No 18

Lips; Color me beautiful Lipstick (Water Melon) and Zaron Lipliner Brick Chick

Face; Flori Roberts Stick Foundation (Toasted Almond) , FR Oil Blotting Powder (Tawny) and Mac Select Cover Up (NW 45) was used in covering my dark eye circles

When should you discard your Makeup?

Have you ever wondered if your Lipstick or Powders expire?

If you have, here is your Answer. Yes they do expire.

I d be briefly sharing the shelf life of each product in your Makeup Bag.

Eyeshadows;  These last up to 3 years after which you should dispose them. Do you have any one above 3 years?

Foundation; Check your Foundation and see if it is a Water/Oil based foundation. Usually a water-based foundation will last up to 12 months, oil-based will last up to 18 months.

Lipliners; These last up to 3 years.

Concealers; Your concealer lasts for 12 months after which it should be discarded.

Powder; This can last anywhere up to 2 years and 3 months.

Eyepencils; You can use these for up to 3 years. Most of us would have finished this before then yea.

Lipstick; Okay for lipsticks, there has been a bit of controversy over it's shelf life. Some experts argue that the shelf life of a lipstick is anywhere between 1-2 years while others say it can last up to 4 years. For me i agree with the school of thought that says you should discard your lipstick once it starts to smell rancid.

MascaraThis expires the fastest as confirmed by experts: Discard after 4 months.  A school of thought suggests that you don't pump the wand in and out if you don't want your mascara to expire faster than its production date, if you do, you're only exposing the product to dry air.

Lastly ensure that you wash your Makeup Brushes or sponges weekly to prevent skin infections.

Hope you take these few tips to heart

Modupe Oguns

Hey Luvies,

I am always excited and honored when a Bride chooses HOG Makeovers as the MUA for their special event.

So when i got a call from our Intending Bride all the way from Abuja i was ready to Glam up another prettie woman. We talked about the colors of the Day and she said her trad theme was Gold and Burnt Orange while the White wedding theme was going to be Fuschia and Blue.

Dupe also clearly stated that she wanted an orange Lip for her Trad. Both Trad and white wedding was on the Same Day

                                                                Before Meets After

She loved everything from the Gele to the Brows, to the Flawless Makeup and to the lashes(she was skeptical about the lashes and was bothered that her hubby might not Like them, thanks to her Chief bridesmaid who insisted that i put on the lashes. Guess what her hubby fell in love with the lashes. lol)

                                                                          Dupe's Chiefbridesmaid

I am glad that she was full of admiration with the look we created.

I hope you love her Trad and White wedding look.
